Crucified and resurrected Lord,
teach us to face the struggles of daily life,
so that we may live more fully.
You humbly and patiently took on the failures of human life,
as you did the sufferings of the crucifixion.
Then help us to live through the pains and struggles that each day brings
as opportunities for growth and for becoming more like you.
Enable us to meet them patiently and courageously
filled with trust in your support.
Help us to understand that we will only come to the fullness of life
in constantly dying to ourselves and to our selfish desires.
For it is only in dying with you
that we can be resurrected with you.
May nothing ever again make us suffer or weep
to the point that we forget the joy of your resurrection!
You are the blazing sun of the Father’s Love
You are the hope of eternal happiness
You are the fire of love aflame.
May Jesus’s joy be our inner strength and may it be, amongst us
a link of peace, of unity and of love. Amen.
