Spirit of the Risen Christ, Holy Spirit
If only we knew what we could ask of you
to pray as we ought!
Yet the humble stutters of our prayer
come through the crucible of our poverty.
Then you, the living God
enter our poor soul,
you enter our weakness,
you read our true intentions in our hearts.
And your Spirit comes within us,
it comes to express the inexpressible
through humble words,
sighs and silence.
And you say to us:
“Don’t worry about anything,
don’t worry about your lack of ability to pray.
Know that, in your prayerful waiting,
I have already paved the way”.
