Prayer According to the Ecumenical Dombes Group

Lord, you do not put us to the test in order to have us give in to evil, but so that the test will

strengthen our faith.

Yet we know our weakness and we pray you humbly: preserve us from the test

so that we won’t turn away from you.

And if the test is not spared us then, we beseech you, deliver us from Evil!

And we pray you also for the world itself, so often oppressed by war, injustice and misfortune. That these tragedies of humanity may not stifle the cry of hope within our humanity.

Preserve our world from giving in to the temptations of power, of pride and of hatred!

Deliver us from Evil!
