Tell us, Mary Magdalene, what did you see in the garden ?
I saw the resurrected Lord. I learned that he now takes on different forms from that to which we were accustomed and that we should recognize him in the appearance of the humblest of gardeners. I knew that he is not only the Lord of life, but also the Master of death. I knew that this terrifying strength does not hinder him from calling his friends by their own names. I understood that he does not allow that the great hope and the great expectation born of a real love for him ever be disappointed. In the garden, I saw all that, for all of that was in him, all of that was him.
