Our Lord and our God

You are our Father and we bless you.

We want to express to you our love and our gratitude for the fact that each one of us is called to be a worker at your side in the combat against evil, suffering and death, for the love of You and for the love of our neighbor.

Today most particularly, you renew in us your appeal to join this combat for the abolition of torture and of the death penalty along with all men and women of good will.

You ask us to be the bearers of Hope, of Hope in Life, there where there is despair.

Lord Jesus, without You we feel so weak and helpless when faced with suffering.

What we know is that You are there in our lives, You who overcame evil, suffering and death -ever present- and also that we are called to be faithful witnesses to Your Hope.

Let our faith grow within us.

Make us aware of what You are asking us to be and to live in such a way that, tangibly, our action be given life in the light of the Gospel.
