Our Father

Our Father which art in heaven,

Thou, Father of the Muslims, Father of the Jews and Father of the Christians.

Hallowed be thy name,

Thy name is praised as the righteous one the mighty one. We praise thee as the merciful one.

Thy kingdom come,

The reign of peace hoped for, the reign of constant love, the reign of joy eternal.

Thy will be done on the earth as it is in heaven.

Our tongue says "Thy will be done" - but we do as we please.

Give us this day our daily bread

And teach us to share it with our own but also with our foes.

Forgive us our trespasses

The offenses which we don’t see, which we don’t try to recognize, the offenses which we only see in others.

As we forgive those who have trespassed against us

Help us to always be ready to grasp the hand of reconciliation, help us to give hope, trust and comfort.

And lead us not into temptation

The temptation of only thinking of ourselves, of taking ourselves to be the measure of all, the temptation of dismissing the problems and preoccupations of our neighbor.

But deliver us from evil

Deliver us from selfishness, from laziness of heart and show us thy light.

We thank thee, thou our Father which art in heaven.
